COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Fundamentals of Drawing beginner and intermediate levels
The goal of this course is to have participants learn a step-by-step approach to drawing and shading based on the renaissance style of the old masters. We will cover the basic principles of drawing that build a solid foundation for your artistic endeavours. Learn at your own pace. Teaching techniques include demonstrations, step by step illustrations, reference drawings, paintings and photographs. We will cover: the progression from basic sketch to refined drawing, skills (measuring, fixed points, plumb line, flows, negative spaces), an approach to florals and landscapes, elements of perspective, an approach to working from photographs (composition, cropping). This course is perfect for the (absolute!) beginner and those wanting to improve their drawing skills. The intermediate component introduces shading (tones), advanced drawing skills, and allows for more self directed learning in a specific area of interest.
